Regenerative medicine: PRP & BMAC injections

Regenerative, or orthobiologic, treatments use your body’s own healing factors to help injured tendons and joints. Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) is concentrated from a small sample of your blood. Bone marrow aspirate concentrate (BMAC) is drawn from your own bone marrow, usually at the back of the hip, and concentrated before it is injected. They can be a good option for some tendon injuries and early arthritis, especially if you want to avoid or delay surgery. The evidence is stronger for some conditions than others, and we’ll tell you honestly whether it’s likely to help in your case.
